Optimus Prime - Dawn of War by ~LateartThe suggester said:"The background is absolutely stunning! It really shows how the war is affecting Cybertron and Optimus Prime looks like the noble, heroic leader that he is. This is extremely well painted and made me awestruck when I first saw it." (

You are a legend! The lighting, the setting, poses, detail, textures... All utterly amazing. It's pictures like this that made me register for a DA account in the first place. I'm not an artist myself, but when I see something done as well as this, I always feel the need to comment. The internet is so full of negativity, harsh language and disrespectful people all vying for attention. I love that there is so very little of that sort of conduct visible on DeviantArt, it is such a welcome change. I am a big believer in showing my support and heaping praise when I see any project so skillfully rendered and I thank you for sharing your work. Optimus Prime has such an awesome, commanding presence in this image, you have captured him perfectly. The Nemesis floating in the sky above his head was also a nice touch, easily missed if you gave the image a casual glance. Fortunately, no one could possibly give this image a casual glance - it's beauty simply demands closer inspection. The only criticism I could possibly merit on this image would be regarding Ironhide's teeth - there's just something a bit weird looking there, in my opinion.
Wowzers! What really strikes me about this piece is the lighting effect behind Optimus and how it makes him stick out as a result. I love the fiery atmosphere and the real impact of war this has. Beautiful job.
Thanks! Am with you there: In my TF world vision humans are mostly there to be squashed if anything... In a way though, I did make a silly mistake with this as I left human car modes for them in my old school whim.
Well the coolness factor does excuse leaving them in their human car modes!
On that topic however - it does make it a challenge to draw them in their cybertron days, since clearly they looked different. I just started on a rendition of Megatron in his gladiator days, and am running into this exact issue.
As a die hard fan of the original G1 Transformers cartoon show, I have to admit, this pays a great deal of respect, and homage to both the show, and it's creators. As one of the shows most iconic characters you've portrayed Optimus Prime as a true leader, hero and all around true Autobot. You should be not only proud of the work you've shown here, but of the joy you bring to all us fans who wish we had the calibre of talent that you do.
